Vegetables Pulao

Ingredients


  • 3 tomatoes (diced)
  • 3 onions (sliced)
  • small piece of ginger
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 1 green chili
  • 1 cup peas
  • 4 potatoes (diced)
  • 1 cups of rice

Spices


  • 2 tsp Curry Powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder
  • pinch of hing (asafetida)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds

Steps


  1. crush ginger, garlic, and green chili into a paste
  2. dry roast cumin seeds for a minute
  3. add onions and water sauce for 4 minutes
  4. add tomatoes, ginger/garlic/green chili paste, and spices
  5. cook for another 4 or 5 minutes (Adding water as needed)
  6. add potatoes and peas and cook for 2 or 3 minutes
  7. add rice and 4 cups of water
  8. pressure cook for as long as the the selected rice requires (20 minutes for brown rice)
