Tamarind Sauce

Ingredients


  • 50g tamarind (remove seeds)
  • 50g jaggery 

Spices


  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder

Steps


  1. soak tamarind in warm water for 30 minutes
  2. blend the water and soaked tamarind
  3. strain blended tamarind water through cheese cloth of a fine seive
  4. add to a warm pan, and add jaggery.  
  5. add seasonings and boil it together to combine (on a very slow flame) 20+ minutes until it reaches the right consistency (see video)
