Ingredients
- 2 medium onions (chopped)
- 2 potatoes (chopped and soak in water to keep from browning)
- 1 cup of brown rice or par boiled rice and 3 cups of water (wash it first)
Spices:
- 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp salt
- red chili (optional to taste if you want some heat)
Steps
- heat up the pressure cooker, add dry roast cumin seeds
- add onions and a little water to water sauté for 3 or 4 minutes
- add the potatoes (drained), and rice and mix
- add salt and 3 cups of water (brown rice only needs 2 cups)
- pressure cook for 15 minutes and let it release for 10 minutes
Note - this is marked as a side dish because it goes so well with most any other dish. You can eat it as a meal if you want.
