Chickpea Masala

Ingredients


  • 1 cup cooked chick peas (soak overnight and boil) without the liquid
  • 2 small tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 green chili ( minced)
  • Cilantro for topping

spices


  • 1.5 tsp coriander powder
  • 1.5 tsp Chana masala Mix (use curry powder if you can’t find)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp carom/cumin mix (take 1/4 tsp of carom (ajwain) seeds and 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, dry roast and grind)
  • 1/2 tsp mango powder (or a little lemon juice after cooking)

Steps


  1. Take the bowl of chickpeas (not on heat) and add spices, tomatoes, and chilis and mix together
  2. add the bowl of everything into a heated pan and water sauté for a few minutes to get the tomatoes starting to break down and all the spices cooked
  3. once cooked add the cilantro to the top
